Maruti Scans and Labs offers comprehensive Ultrasound (USG) scan services across all our branches. Our scans are conducted by expert radiologists with extensive experience, ensuring accurate diagnosis and patient comfort.
What is an Ultrasound Scan?
Ultrasound, or sonography, uses high-frequency sound waves to create real-time images of the internal organs, tissues, and blood flow. It is a safe, non-invasive procedure widely used for diagnostic and monitoring purposes without the use of radiation.
Types of Ultrasound Scans Offered
We provide a variety of ultrasound scans tailored to different medical needs, including but not limited to:
Abdominal Ultrasound: Examines organs such as the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys, and spleen
Pelvic Ultrasound: Assesses reproductive organs including the uterus and ovaries in women, and bladder and prostate in men
Obstetric Ultrasound: Monitors fetal development during pregnancy
Doppler and Vascular Ultrasound: Evaluates blood flow in arteries and veins, helping detect blockages, clots, or vascular abnormalities
Renal Ultrasound: Focuses on the kidneys to assess size, structure, and detect abnormalities such as stones or cysts
Thyroid Ultrasound: Imaging of the thyroid gland to detect nodules or abnormalities
Musculoskeletal Ultrasound: Assesses muscles, tendons, and joints for injuries or inflammation
Preparation for Ultrasound Scans
Preparation for Ultrasound Scans
Unless specifically advised otherwise, you may eat and drink normally before your appointment. If fasting is required—for example, for certain abdominal scans—you will receive clear instructions when you schedule your MRI.
It is important to continue taking any prescribed medications as usual, including those for diabetes. If you use pain medication to stay comfortable, please take it before the scan.
What to Expect During the Scan
The procedure might take a duration of anywhere between 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the examination area. <ul
Abdominal Scan : Usually requires fasting for 6–8 hours before the procedure for clearer images.
Pelvic Scan : May require a full bladder; patients might be asked to drink water and avoid urinating for some time before the scan.
Other scans generally require no special preparation, but specific instructions will be provided when you schedule your appointment.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing as you may need to expose the area being scanned.
